Who is behind The Lost Art oF Customer Service?
I have been in the home based business industry ( as well as other businesses but ALL in the customer service field) for over 13 years. I am the mother of 4 adult children and the grandma of 7 grand babies. I was mostly a single mom while raising my kids but in 2000 I was blessed with marrying Doug , one of the, if not THE best man in the entire world and I know if any of you out there know him you KNOW this to be true!
I am passionate about customer service!
As I said all of my work years have been spent in the field of customer service ( in one form or another) I have even had the pleasure of being employed by The Walt Disney Company( YES, I was a cast member!) AND Nordstroms, 2 of the largest companies that tout their customer service abilities! These companies are industry leaders in customer service.
One day I was sitting in the hospital watching and praying as my daughter tried to fight a unknown bacterial infection AND this blog was born!
I feel it is about time that we consumers stand up and insist that companies start practicing good old fashioned CUSTOMER SERVICE!
For further insight, I submit the following- a portion of a blog that I wrote on another website…….
WHY?-
I am starting this new journey and am having fun along the way. I hope that my life continues to grow and change as time goes by.
Everyday,as I went to all those”other” jobs. I wondered what it was that I was doing and then….as the song says….”suddenly I see….this is what I want to be! Suddenly I see why the HE** it means so much to me!”
First time I heard that song it just *meant* something to me…it tingled my tummy! LOL..YES, I LOVE “The Devil Wears Prada” I’m no devil but I want to wear Prada! That song has become my anthem! I listen to it often. Go to my myspace page and listen to my Ipod, it is #1!
So, WHAT is it that I want to be? A writer……a columnist….and this is my drawing board. I am NO writer..but I want to be one
Regarding my GOALS-
Goals and ambitions are motivating and important in a person’s life, in MY life. My main goal is to make a difference in someones life. I would like that to be a ongoing goal. If I achieve it once I want to do it again and again…..
I’ve been fortunate to accomplish many things in my life. But my biggest accomplishment: is my children. Other then that-when I became a Realtor I set a goal of 1.5 million sold in my first year. I exceeded that by 2.5 Million.
I have positioned myself in jobs over the years that have given me the unique opportunity to watch the inside workings, or behind the scenes if you will, of BIG companies that are very well accomplished in the area of customer service! I do not think it is a mistake that I have worked for such companies as Walt Disney and Nordstroms over the years.
